Challenge Post: Where Landscape Meets Sky

I haven't decided which - if any - of my photos I'm going to put forward for voting but here are some that fit the theme, at least!

Skiddaw

So, most of mine are old photos. I had an idea about what I wanted to take but the weather has been awful and we pretty much haven't had a sky other than haze. I could have done something with that, but it was wet and I was too miserable to try. Ha. I did get one shot taken specifically for the challenge, which was this one:

This is a cropped down version of a sunset on Blencathra. What drew me to it were the clouds but I don't think I got close enough (I just pulled into a layby on the way home to take this and snapped it pretty quickly) to make the most of them, nor have I nailed the colours or light. Maybe a longer shutter time? I don't know.

A few others are of the fells too -- from the summer. I'm always drawn to clouds and shadows, and these reflect that. Skiddaw before the cut, Blencathra and Castlerigg stone circle to follow:

Brough Marshes:

It's super-saturated, but I like the sense of movement in the sky and land. I think the cows sort of bind them together.

And then a couple of architecture shots. I struggled to find any where the sky was as important as the landscape, but I think these two fit the bill, even if they are a bit cliche:

Temple of Castor

I think these last two are more sky-centric than the challenge calls for, but I'm going to post them anyway:

That's me! XD

Wow! Now might be the appropriate time to suggest two separate categories for the monthly challenge: ammateur and OMFGAMAZING!

That aerial shot is just stunning!

Ahah, well -- I've really cherry-picked here, but thanks! You can see my effort to actually TAKE a photo for this wasn't enormously successful. I wonder if today will be any brighter.

The aerial shot was pure chance -- I had my little point-and-click with me as we flew back into the UK, and this was us coming down over Scotland. I think it's a bit grainy but I love the clouds.

I love the from a plane one, it takes a different take on the usual idea of landscape photography: above land.

That first one looks so much like a desktop that'd come with your computer, it's that perfect.

The columns one is awesome. Its sorta.. the landscape bumping into the sky, invading the sky. Also, didn't you make a movie poster out of this or something?! Or did I make that up?

They're all so damn pretty!!!!!! *can't choose*

Wow! These are fantastic! *now feels a little ashamed of her submissions*

I was going to pick one to wow over especially but I can't choose one XD. I just LOVE the clarity of your photos, though - the colours are always amazing and the light is so good. The Brough Marshes one is just beautiful.

Oh god, don't say that! I mean, thanks, but they're not THAT good. I do like the Brough Marshes one, though. Even though I'm trying to move away from over-saturating photos, I like the colours in it.
